Welcome Speech by Yvette Oppenheim dedicating our new Memorial Garden on Veteran's Day 2018
I would like to welcome everyone to this special Veteran's Day event. Thank you so much for coming.
The flag that will be raised today, for the first time, was flown over the US Capitol on July 6, 2017, and was procured for us by Congresswoman Kathleen Rice. The flag certificate will hang in the Clubhouse.
I would like to call upon Mr. Paul Goodman, a World War II veteran, to cut the ribbon for our new memorial garden.
Barbara Follander and Dave Glick will raise the flag for the first time. ‘
Special thanks to Mr. Dave Glick for giving us another beautiful flag that flew in Iraq. It will be on display in the Clubhouse, with its certification.
